BEHIND THE CAMERA CLUB: NEW PROGRAM REGISTRATION OPEN / CLUB DERRIÈRE LA CAMÉRA: INSCRIPTION OUVERTE POUR LE NOUVEAU PROGRAM

This project is a result of a partnership between Cinema Public and Spectrum Productions thanks to support from City of Montreal and the Government of Quebec and the Caisse Versants du mont Royal.

Behind the Camera Club is a program for gender marginalized and autistic youth who are interested in filmmaking or animation.

WE AT SPECTRUM RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR COMMUNITY SPACES, FOR GIRLS (TRANSFEMS ARE HIGHLY WELCOMED AND INCLUDED), TRANSMASCS, GENDER NON-CONFORMING AND QUESTIONING AUTISTIC YOUTH. THAT IS WHY WE CREATED BEHIND THE CAMERA CLUB.

Through this space we want to give our participants the ability to build friendships, get creative and have fun through filmmaking. Behind the Camera Club is designed to inspire them to use media and video for self-expression by using a film workshop format. This Winter/Spring session we will create a collaborative project over 15 weeks.

Participants learn the basics and not-so-basics of the filmmaking process, developing their skills in storytelling, camera movement, montage techniques, sound design and lots more!

Ages 13-21

This is a program of weekly workshops of 2.5 hours each.

Our knowledgeable mentors will be on hand to inspire and support as everyone learns to use their voice and vision to tell a story.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about this redesigned program, and for your help in promoting and sharing this opportunity with aspiring creators who may be a good fit and interested in joining.

REQUIREMENTS

First and foremost, we want to see that you have a passion for media creation, whether you want to make your own projects or you want to learn technical skills, such as camera operation or editing.

Second is a motivation to expand on the skills you may already have and an interest to learn new things.

The group will work on a collaborative film that creators can contribute to with the skills they choose. The finished film will screened at the end of the project by Cinema Public, and premiere online on Spectrum Productions Youtube Channel.

If you want to attend, please fill in the registration form. You can also send links to any creative work you have done to ke@productionsspectrum.com, but that’s optional. The best way to get started is to register and come to the program to start creating.

NOTE: if this is your first time attending Spectrum Productions programming, a video meetings will be conducted before the workshop begins so we can hear about your passions and or creative talents. This helps us to ensure the program will be a good fit.

CHEZ PRODUCTIONS SPECTRUM NOUS RECONNAISSONS LE BESOIN DE CONSACRER UN ESPACE POUR LES FILLES (LES PERSONNES TRANS FÉMININES SONT LA BIENVENUE ET INCLUSES), PERSONNES TRANS MASCULINES, JEUNES QUI NE SE CONFORMENT PAS AU GENRE ET LES JEUNES AUTISTES EN QUESTIONNEMENT. C’EST POUR CELA QUE NOUS AVONS CRÉÉ LE CLUB DERRIÈRE LA CAMÉRA.

Grâce à cet espace, nous voulons donner à nos participant.es la possibilité de nouer des amitiés, de faire preuve de créativité et de s'amuser grâce à la réalisation de films. Le Club derrière la caméra est conçu pour les inspirer à utiliser les médias et la vidéo pour s'exprimer en utilisant un format d'atelier de cinéma. Cette session d'hiver/printemps, nous créerons un projet collaboratif sur 15 semaines.

Les participant.es apprennent les bases et les connaissances moins de base du processus de réalisation de films, développant leurs compétences en matière de narration, de mouvement de caméra, de techniques de montage, de conception sonore et bien plus encore !

Il s'agit d'un programme d'ateliers hebdomadaires de 2h30 chacun.

Nos mentors compétent.es seront sur place pour inspirer et soutenir pendant que chacun.e apprend à utiliser sa voix et sa vision pour raconter une histoire.

EXIGENCES

D’abord et avant tout, nous voulons voir que vous avez une passion pour la création multimédia, que vous souhaitiez réaliser vos propres projets ou que vous souhaitiez acquérir des compétences techniques, telles que le fonctionnement de la caméra ou le montage.

Deuxièmement, une motivation pour développer les compétences que vous possédez peut-être déjà et un intérêt pour apprendre de nouvelles choses.

Le groupe travaillera sur un film collaboratif auquel les créateurs pourront contribuer avec les compétences de leur choix. Le film fini sera projeté à la fin du projet par Cinema Public et présenté en première en ligne sur la chaîne Youtube de Productions Spectrum.

REMARQUE : s'il s'agit de votre première participation à la programmation de Productions Spectrum, une vidéoconférence aura lieu avant le début de l'atelier afin que nous puissions entendre parler de vos passions et/ou de vos talents créatifs. Cela nous aide à nous assurer que le programme sera bien adapté.
