The Final Camp Is a Wrap!

We have concluded our final camp and with that, the summer camps. We are positively proud of all the hard work the participants have put into these films and how magnificent and original they are! The producers and managers put their all into directing and developing the movies and it really shows!

For this camp in particular we had three live-action groups, working from home and the studio in the span of two weeks. For context, each group had seven members. It was a lot to coordinate everyone, but the managers did it so well! And also with us in the studio for filming days and costume fitting this summer, we did so safely and sanitarily. These three films and all the others we made this summer will be shown at the gala, and we hope to see you there! With every year the quality of our films are escalating, and it is wonderful to see!

Kayla, Emily, Alex and David  were directed by Zof, the Production Head, along with Severyn and Leo, the Production Assistants. We had a lot of open ideas and a lot of joking around, and they wanted to make a comedy! They had a bunch of jokes we used to start forming a plot, inspired by Monty Python and other films they loved! We made a detective-themed film with a bunch of Spectrum easter eggs! We filmed a lot in the green screen room, and it was wild! It was great to film inside and do some mysterious stuff! We really used our imagination! We got to do some puppeteering and had to blend right into the green screen! Also trying to walk on the small green screen…

This film shows a swordsman's attempt to become the greatest to ever live, a man enlists two detectives to help him on his quest and in a comedic adventure!

Danial, Loic, Lucas and Benjamin were directed by Anthony, the production head, and Michael and Liam the Production Assistants. The brainstorming went really smoothly, we figured out what genre and what characters we wanted pretty quickly! The filming was even better and all the participants aced their lines, with amazing performances! Loic acted like he was possessed by a demon and did it so convincingly! Lucas kept on joking about how much he liked nickelback, and Danial and Benjamin sold their roles so well! The result of this work is a film of three brothers who get their results for a power exam at high school and two of them get powers, and the other become so jealous that he conjures up a demon!

Jesse, Max, Luca and Liam were directed by Katie, the Production Head, and Noah and Melissa, the Production Assistants. Everyone had a lot of strong ideas and we started with a very different concept of a spy movie. After a bit more planning and forming the plot, we changed up the story and added some more characters like a sock puppet, a simpleton, a cyborg, and the spy from TF2. We had a lot of animators in our group who were making a live action film and they thought it was so exciting! We had a lot of participants who really got into the zone and made it so fun! Also we made the sock puppet into our own little muppet!

Come to the gala this November and watch a spy and a sock team up to defeat a hacker!
