Programming has wrapped up for the season and summer camps are coming soon!
This has been an amazing year for the participants of all our programs, from Creative Media Lab to Social Club and everything in between! In addition to reopening the studio to in-person attendance this spring, we added a new program, Behind the Camera Club, in partnership with Cinema Public for girls, transfem, transmasc and questioning autistic youth. This program will continue in the fall!

Production Club met every Sunday morning and were prepared for every occasion from Halloween, Christmas, and Autism Awareness Month! Participants created many fun short films including two new installments to the Spectrum Cinematic Universe! Stay tuned for the premieres because we can't wait to share them with you!
Saturday Morning Cartoons and Advanced Saturday Matinee Cartoons were hard at work creating some amazing animations and stop motion films full of superheroes, adventurers and puppies!
At Social Club we had a blast, playing Jenga and Dominoes all night, watching short films and eating delicious dinners cooked by our very own Peter Papaioannou!
This year we introduced Thursday Afterschool Workshops where participants could experiment with filmmaking techniques from our free Community Challenges funded by Canadian Heritage.
Last but certainly not least, we had our Creative Media Lab group in tandem with the Rough Cuts program. Each week they worked on a new skills development challenge to master practical filmmaking skills, from how to make special edits, add effects of all kinds, and make engaging characters! You can see all of their work here in their creator profiles.
As you can see, this was a jam-packed year and we wouldn’t have been able to do this without your continued participation and support. Thank you all for being a part of it, and we can’t wait to see you back in September!

La programmation est terminée pour la saison et les camps d’été arrivent bientôt!
Ce fut une année incroyable pour les participants de tous nos programmes, du Labo Média Créatif au Club Social et tout le reste! En plus de rouvrir le studio en personne ce printemps, nous avons ajouté un nouveau programme, Club Derrière a Caméra, en partenariat avec Cinema Public pour les filles, transfems, transmascs et les jeunes autistes se questionnant. Ce programme se poursuivra à l’automne!
Le Club de Production se réunissait tous les dimanches matins et était préparé pour chaque occasion de l’Halloween, de Noël et du Mois de la sensibilisation à l’autisme. Les participants ont créé de nombreux courts métrages amusants, y compris deux nouveaux épisodes de l’univers cinématographique Spectrum! Restez à l’écoute pour les premières car nous avons hâte de les partager avec vous.
Les Animations du Samedi Matin et les Dessins Animés Avancés du Samedi Après-midi ont travaillés dur pour créer des animations incroyables et des films d’animation avec des super-héros, des aventuriers et des chiots !
Au Club Social, nous nous sommes éclatés, jouant à Jenga et aux Dominos toute la nuit, regardant des courts métrages et mangeant de délicieux dîners cuisinés par notre propre Peter Papaioannou.
Cette année, nous avons lancé les Ateliers Parascolaires du jeudi, où les participants peuvent expérimenter les techniques de réalisation cinématographique de nos Défis Communautaires gratuits financés par Patrimoine Canadien.
Finalement et non du moindre, nous avions notre groupe du Labo Média Créatif en tandem avec le programme Rough Cuts. Chaque semaine, ils ont travaillé sur un nouveau défi pour maîtriser les compétences pratiques de tournage, les façons de faire des montages spéciaux, ajouter des effets de toutes sortes, et créer des personnages attrayants. Vous pouvez voir tout leur travail ici dans leurs profils de créateurs.
Comme vous pouvez le constater, l’année a été remplie à craquer et nous n’aurions pas pu le faire sans votre participation et votre soutien continus. Merci à tous d’en faire partie, et nous avons hâte de vous revoir en septembre!
