Autism Acceptance month begins tomorrow and what better time to celebrate creators from our community!
Last year, we had so much fun hearing from the creators of One Last Bowl and Data Breach. And we were lucky enough to have had an online screening of Salome Chasnoff’s Code of the Freaks through our partnership with ReelAbilities Toronto! Good news, we will be continuing our partnership with them this year for an exclusive screening!
Spectrum Fest is a film and media festival showcasing work from neurodiverse/divergent creators, disabled artists, and Deaf creators, and others who have traditionally experienced and continue experiencing barriers to practice. Originally started as a festival to promote and celebrate creative work from the autism spectrum, Spectrum Fest is now in its fourth year and continuing to expand the scope and mandate to one of wider inclusion.
This year, we are aiming to shift the lens by showcasing people telling their own stories!
This year’s highlights
March 24th Community Challenges Finale. We had so much fun last week during the Community Challenges FINALE! We watched the winning submissions and looked back at all of the fun we had since October. Congrats to all of the winners!
Our very first Spectrum Fest 2022 event!
April 9th Screening at the DeSève theater (1-4pm) in partnership with Reelabilities Toronto! We will be showing a variety of films submitted from Reelabilities Toronto, by creators within the community and by those from our very own at Spectrum Productions will be shown.
We are so excited to screen Ma Vie by Jérémie Dufour and Splitting by Anthony Campoli - both long time Spectrum Productions creators.
We will also be showing 5 films from Reelabilties Toronto:

Le Mois de l'autisme débute demain et quel meilleur moment pour célébrer les créateurs de notre communauté!
L'année dernière, nous nous sommes tellement amusés à entendre les créateurs de One Last Bowl et Data Breach. Et nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une projection en ligne de Code of the Freaks de Salome Chasnoff grâce à notre partenariat avec ReelAbilities Toronto! Bonne nouvelle, nous poursuivrons cette année notre partenariat avec eux pour une projection exclusive !
Spectrum Fest est un festival de films et de médias présentant le travail de créateurs neurodivers/divergents, d'artistes handicapés et de créateurs sourds, et d'autres qui ont traditionnellement rencontré et continuent de rencontrer des obstacles à la pratique. Initialement lancé comme un festival pour promouvoir et célébrer le travail créatif du spectre de l'autisme, Spectrum Fest en est maintenant à sa quatrième année et continue d'élargir la portée et le mandat à une inclusion plus large.
Cette année, nous visons à changer l'objectif en mettant en vedette des personnes racontant leurs propres histoires!
Les moments importants de cette année
24 mars - La finale des défis collectifs. Nous nous sommes tellement amusés la semaine dernière lors de la FINALE des défis collectifs! Nous avons regardé les soumissions gagnantes et revu tout le plaisir que nous avons eu depuis octobre. Félicitations à tous les gagnants!
9 avril (13-16h)- Projection au théâtre DeSève en partenariat avec Reelabilities Toronto! Nous montrerons une variété de films soumis par Reelabilities Toronto ainsi que des créateurs de notre communauté chez Productions Spectrum.
Nous sommes ravis de projeter Ma Vie de Jérémie Dufour et Splitting d'Anthony Campoli - tous deux créateurs de longue date de Productions Spectrum.
Nous présenterons également 5 films de Reelabilties Toronto :
