A Fascinating Visit to Zone3!
Back in October 2020, I went to visit a production set in Griffintown, where they were filming the cooking show “Pas de panique, on cuisine,” produced by Zone3 for AMI. This was a one-day shadowing internship that the Zone3 team offered (big thank to Manon Donais, who coordinated our visit).
During my visit, I watched alongside another Spectrum Productions participant Philippe Gravel how everything for the shoot was set up and how they filmed. For me, this was a lot different to how I film for Sweets with Pete back at the Spectrum studio. Almost similar, but different enough. I think the setup of the entire film set was the most interesting part to me. Because back at the studio, we’re limited to what we can use when filming. If we had more of the equipment that I witnessed being used on this set, it could improve my skills the next time I film a cooking video.
At the very end of April 2021, Philippe and I went to visit another studio where we met an editor for the show, named Matthieu Lambert, where he showed us bits and pieces of an episode for the show that was in the works. He also explained before he became an editor, he used to work for a news station where his job was to set up for the news broadcast. And while there, with a reporter, he learned how to edit.
All in all, the entire experience of both trips was fascinating.
